The University of Thessaly Department of Dietetics & Nutrition organized a Nutrition conference on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 8:00 -13:00, held in the city of Trikala. The event took place under the auspices of the Municipality of Trikala and the Union of Dietitians - Nutritionists of Greece. Representatives from regional institutions and professors from the University Department of Dietetics & Nutrition gave presentations.

For the first time in Trikala, the event was graced by the presence of the internationally distinguished Professor Emeritus of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine and Member of the Academy of Athens, Dr Antonia Trichopoulou. The conference began with the presentation of an award to Dr Trichopoulou and her opening address on the topic of the "Mediterranean Diet".
