Sustainable Development Festival ASviS 2025
May 7-23, 2025 | Italy
On May 19, 2025, as part of the ASviS Festival for Sustainable Development, an online event titled “Sustainable and Healthy Nutrition for All: From Mediterranean to Planeterranean Diet” was held. The event was organized by the UNESCO Chair on Health Education and Sustainable Development at the University of Naples Federico II.
This initiative aims to promote a healthy and sustainable global food model, inspired by the nutritional values of the Mediterranean Diet but adapted to the local characteristics of each region, utilizing available food resources and respecting cultural dietary traditions. The proposed model, called “Planeterranea”, is fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, combining health, environmental responsibility, and cultural diversity.
At the opening of the event, Ms. Trichopoulou delivered a speech titled “Mediterranean Diet: the path towards the recognition of UNESCO intangible Heritage.”
