Food Systems, Health, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change: Challenges, Prospects and Action

A high-level scientific event titled “Food Systems, Health, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change: Challenges, Prospects, and Action” was successfully held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Academy of Athens.

The event was organized by the Academy’s Center for Research and Education in Public Health, in collaboration with the Departments of Nutrition and Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. It aimed to highlight the complex links between nutrition, agriculture, public health, and climate change, while presenting sustainable solutions for the future.

Renowned experts from Greece and abroad discussed key issues such as the health impacts of climate change, strategies for sustainable agriculture, the use of artificial intelligence in environmental management, and the protection of marine ecosystems.

A special session was dedicated to the Delphi School: From Science to Policy, an initiative that seeks to connect academic research with policy-making for the protection of public health and the environment.

The event sparked meaningful dialogue among scientists, policymakers, and civil society, underscoring the urgent need for coordinated action toward a healthier and more sustainable future.

New and old CPHRE collaborators from the School of Public Health, the School of Medicine and the Hellenic Health Foundation participated in the event.
