The 6th meeting of the International Carbohydrate Quality Consortium (ICQC) took place in Kalamata on October 16–17, 2025, bringing together international scientists to discuss topics such as: the quality of carbohydrates, including dietary fiber, the glycemic index, and the consumption and effects of sugar and sweeteners. The conference aimed to develop a shared scientific foundation that will support future dietary guidelines and policies related to the production and labeling of products containing high-quality carbohydrates.

In her speech, Ms. Vourli presented findings on the glycemic index and glycemic load of a representative sample of the Greek population, while Ms. Peppa spoke about the association of dietary glyceride and glyceric acid with metabolic syndrome in a representative sample of the Greek population.
